Part 2 Dissertation 2016

The media has been negatively portraying immigration as a crisis in recent years, and is implicit in crafting national perceptions of immigrants to paint a damning picture of a system which takes advantage of uncertainty; artificially elevating the topic to sell newspapers. This work investigates techniques practiced by national papers, broadsheets and tabloids in the UK to discover how marginalised communities are oppressed to fulfil an agenda rooted in imperialism.
