This research project examines how the collective memories of the citizens and authorities of Munich, when responding to the memory of the destructive Second World War and the legacy of the Nazi government, has had an influence on the reconstruction, alteration and new architecture in Munich. This study highlights a range of responses to memory, which convey the people of Munich coming to terms with their difficult history.
