Deconstructing the Connection Between the Philosophy of Martin Heidegger and the Architecture of Peter Zumthor Part 2 Dissertation 2018 Samuel Winton University of Lincoln Lincoln | UK When analysing practising architects, architectural theory is a retrospective speculation of intent. Consequently, Peter Zumthor is an interesting case; his media-shy mystique offers little theoretical context for his architecture. Despite this, and in an age in which theoretical positions are obligatory, many propose that his design methodology is informed by the philosophy of Heidegger. This research deconstructs the methods used, in order to draw theoretical conclusions from the built environment. Samuel Winton Tutor(s) Deborah Whelan
