Modularity in Social Housing Projects of the Instituto de Credito Territorial (1940-1980) Part 2 Dissertation 2023 Daniel Pardo Pontifical Bolivarian University | Colombia The Instituto de Crédito Territorial (ICT), from 1939 until its liquidation in 1991, was a Colombian state-owned housing entity that led to significant technological advances in the country. It was a scenario where modularity was experimented with and, for the first time in Colombia, housing prefabrication was tested. The construction of the projects makes it an important legacy in terms of the quality of state housing, making it the subject of research to analyze how prefabricated modular aspects were implemented in the construction of the urban housing programs of the ICT.The research on the modulation and prefabrication application in housing programs and ICT initiatives was addressed with a descriptive and analytical methodology. It encompassed a reading of housing projects containing prefabricated modular elements at different times in the history of the Institute, which were contrasted with the similar case of the Experimental Housing Project (PREVI for its Spanish acronym) in Lima to understand in greater depth the scope of the Institute’s experimentation with these concepts.
