Do Future Architects Dream of Code? Integrating Artificial Intelligence in the Architecture Process Part 2 Dissertation 2023 Dominic Eduardo Farrow Arts University Bournemouth | UK As the architecture industry embraces the integration of Artificial Intelligence (henceforth ‘AI’), this research paper delves into the ethical and moral implications of its implementation. Amidst this transformation, AI presents an unprecedented challenge, impacting human creativity, language, and intelligence. Drawing on key texts, such as ""The Future of Professions,"" “Architecture in the Age of Artificial Intelligence,"" and “Artificial Intelligence and Architecture,” this study explores AI's complex integration in current industries in an attempt to understand it’s profound implications for the architectural profession. This paper examines ethical conflicts that arise from implementing AI across various industries and extrapolates their potential influence on architecture, specifically affecting students, professionals, and educators. The research delves into the tensions between the potential benefits of AI in supporting architectural education and professionals against the concerns surrounding job displacement and changes to the industry. In addition to examining existing literature, this paper incorporates the author's own experiments and renditions to illuminate the challenges posed by ethical imperatives when employing AI in architectural practices. This provides an understanding of the possible role AI has in reshaping architecture and the ethical imperatives that must underpin its implementation. Tutor(s) Willem De Bruijn
