The Coquimbo Urban Centre are located in the Port of Coquimbo in the north of Chile.

The project appears as a proposal against the current waterfront development by the local government, being one of the objectives of the project is the rescue of the wetland as a potential public space for the city.

The Structure conceptualization from the cranes constructive model, as iconic elements of a dockland city and the buildings shows their relation with public spaces systems.

The outer skin contains public spaces inside closing the gap between the landscape and visitors and the structural sequence allows the passage of light to generate a rhythm that invites the viewer.

The roof structure forms a shell that allows massive outdoor activities, enhancing the contact with the natural environment of the city.

The project in Coquimbo, takes a sustainable medium not only of Coquimbo, if not in the region, as it is located opposite the existing, protecting its slope with a friendly, project of low height and public use wetland, putting in value the wetlands which constituted the principal view of the project and a point of contact with nature, flora and fauna of the area option.

The edge of the sea and the wetland is now stale and very close industrial zone, also has been built gradually over it in areas that were of protection.

The project raises a multi-purpose urban and services centre located between the city and the wetland, covers several blocks, spread on the ground providing longitudinal and sinuous, tour as the sinuosity of the edge of the sea, between modules of urban services, exhibitions, sales, local handicraft fairs, culminating in a large space, event Centre for enabling activities such as theatre, concerts, cultural and social events.

They are one and two-story where covers fold to control the entrance of the Sun, and seek shade whereas the Coquimbo city has a high percentage of sunny days a year and with high temperatures, making shadow plays a role player in the architecture.
Each module of the project has a panel that captures solar autoabasteciendo lighting project.
