Pick Me Up The Idol’s Camp Part 1 Project 2019 Zhenyu Fu University of Nottingham Ningbo | China With echoes of our current entertainment environment, this project takes a dystopian view seeking to explore how the audience and authority intervenes in the idol production industry. The composition in three segments narrates the creation process of an idol from scratch and its shaping into a mass phenomenon. Here idols are selected from the audience, trained (i.e. censored) by the authority, to finally be worshipped by the audience. Ultimately the idol with a setting character becomes the puppet of the authority and the audiences are eroded by the fake culture prosperity. Zhenyu Fu Tutor(s)
