The Storage of Ideas: A local library for a global city Part 1 Project 2016 Dominic Edwards University of Cambridge | UK This project attempts to bring the economic, technological, social and physical changes taking place in East London within a single public institution. Starting with the Idea Store, Tower Hamlet’s concept for a wide-reaching community facility, and into an area of Bethnal Green still exploited as an archetypal dystopian location, it proposes a programme almost unchallenged in its provocation of morally ‘good’ activity: a local library.
