Modular Land[e]scape, driven and inspired from key modular and conceptual forms, utilises sustainable construction and footing techniques to provide an inhabitable space for both humans and wildlife simultaneously.
The title “Land[e]scape” was formed through the introduction of ground anchors, which created a design that became elevated and detached from the ground as a whole, allowing the existing surface to remain relatively unharmed. Further escaping the continuous destruction of the local wildlife and their respective habitats. Additionally, the materials used within all three design phases have been sourced locally and reused, emphasizing the clear sustainable values that push for newer construction to be positive.
Furthermore, utilising traditional construction techniques whilst challenging their destructive qualities, to provide a juxtaposition that aids the growth of local wildlife whilst deriving from forms of destruction.
Additionally, emphasising the need for
wildlife preservation, showcasing how construction can be sustainable and forward thinking, not destructive and deterrent. Overall, this project creates a modular template that has a core function to support the advancing rewilding strategy but can also be adapted in the form of “additions”, In order to provide individual or specialised features that are specific to different aspects and phases of the brief.
