Following the regime change in 1989 in Hungary, hundreds of industrial facilities lost their function. During the 1990s and early 2000s entire sectors collapsed due to economic transformation, leaving numerous buildings vacant and abandoned. The fate of these establishments remains an open question in today’s architecture: Should we demolish, rebuild, or simply abandon them? While the conversion of these abandoned structures rarely becomes a priority, I want to explore a different approach:

What if we allow nature and the environment to take the lead in redefining the meaning and role of these buildings within the local community? Could we revitalise these structures with the vision from nature and community for future generations? Is it possible to timetravel through architecture?
