Golf Academy & Clubhouse Part 1 Project 2019 Sachiththa Sooriyabandara City School of Architecture | Sri Lanka The design scheme is a Golf Academy & Clubhouse. The scheme mainly looks at how an indoor golf academy functions and has related its spaces and concept to suit the scheme. The main architectural element of the scheme would be the “sculptural red wall of fame”. This architectural element holds the scheme functionally, structurally and aesthetically. The wall acts as the spine of the scheme. The concept of awareness is to inspire more therefore the wall acts as a promotional element with the achievements and facts of golf embedded in it. Therefore, named as the “wall of fame” in golf. The wall also separates the services and the main functions of the scheme, hence more space can be taken into the main spaces and it could be opened out into the garden space which opens out to a larger garden space which is the Golf course. Therefore, the ambience of openness in a golf course can be felt. Similarly, the spaces in the scheme are flexible therefore it can be used as a multi – functional space. More space of the site has been given out to the outdoor practising areas to represent “openness”. Tutor(s)
