Dwelling Neuroarchitecture Part 2 Project 2024 Paula Vanesa Rincón Mora Pilot University of Colombia Bogota | Colombia In architectural practice, the emotional and sensory objectives of design have been neglected. Although research into the experience of institutional spaces has expanded and neuroarchitecture has been applied to communal areas, residential design has remained focused on functional development affecting the way people dwell and perceive architectural space.Architecture is not merely a visual art; it has the capacity to enhance human experience by engaging users on sensory, cognitive, physical, and social levels. Consequently, there is a growing interest in exploring experience on residential environments. This project proposes a methodology based on neuroarchitecture, recognizing that the inhabited environment can influence well-being and quality of life. The typology of multi-family housing is redefined, providing private outdoor spaces for all typologies in social and private zones created by voids within the volumes. This approach allows natural lighting and ventilation in all spaces and incorporates biophilia into the design, enabling outdoor activities from home. Additionally, the interior design explores natural materials such as wood and stone, and the use of warm or cool colours for tactile and visual stimulation. These choices create multisensory atmospheres that cater various activities associated with living. Finally, communal spaces are integrated to foster social interaction and community building.
