The River Revival Hub at Wallsend, Newcastle Upon Tyne is an Ecology Discovery and Interactive Learning Centre situated within a regenerated, naturally landscaped park located at the confluence of two rivers. This post-industrial site will be transformed to offer both formal and informal experiences, allowing visitors to connect with regenerated natural habitats and develop community through the public allotments and activities.

The Learning Centre consists of clusters of buildings that form a visitor discovery centre focussed on the local ecology. The Hub aims to reconnect visitors with the river and its ecology through new habitats and engaging interactive design elements such as walkways extending onto the water and floating islands. These features will offer an immersive experience for learning about the ecology of the River Tyne and Willington Gut. Through their design and careful choice of materials, the buildings will complement the landscape, strategically positioned to frame captivating views of the centre and rivers. Each structure will serve a distinct purpose focussed on showcasing plant species, water cleaning, wildlife regeneration and community activities.

The structures are designed to employ lightweight, low impact construction methods and technologies. They utilise passive design strategies to further minimise their impact on the environment.
