16:1 How to Rebuild the Unit of the Carceri D´Invenzione Series Part 2 Project 2024 Pedro Del Campo Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Santiago | Chile This research presents a mechanism for the reconstruction of Giovanni Battista Piranesi's Carceri d'Invenzione series as a single unit. Although traditionally interpreted as sixteen independent representations of prisons, this new perspective suggests that they are fragments of a single decomposed space, defying the conventional idea of unity. The research seeks to restore this unity through a methodology that converts the representations into tangible objects without imposing a definitive answer. This involves practices such as reinterpreting, translating, betraying, dismembering and recomposing. The approach is to promote the constant exploration of their potential unity rather than to establish definitive answers. In other words, they are not unconnected entities, but fragments of the same place, offering different perspectives of a single prison. The author invites the viewer to recompose spatial distortions and fragments of a seemingly unsolvable puzzle. His prints present scenes that suggest centrality, but never achieve it when viewed as independent pieces. But how can one undertake an architectural project based on the representation of architectural lithographs, when their constructive nature is posed from the impossible? Tutor(s) Pedro Alonso
