Remedies of Change Part 1 Project 2024 Jackson Harper University of Plymouth | UK Remedies of Change is a visionary project poised to redefine the landscape of healthcare in Coxside, Plymouth. Nestled within the heart of a declining industrial landscape, the project embodies a paradigm shift towards holistic wellness, addressing escalating health concerns through an innovative approach to nutrition. As a dynamic initiative that progresses through several stages, the proposal represents a proactive architectural intervention, synergising with nature amidst the backdrop of a pressing global climate emergency. At its core, the project is a reimagined health centre that challenges the current model of healthcare delivery. Key elements within the scheme include: an evolving general practice, a salt marsh, salt production facilities, a halotherapy spa and coastal urban agriculture. The purpose of the proposal is to reawaken society’s connection with pure nutrients, amid an era dominated by processed foods laden with preservatives. The Remedy initiates natural healing, starting with the land itself. “Heal the Land, Heal the People” becomes the guiding design principle. Tutor(s) Andrew Humphreys
