Arch-Edu Nexus explores the role of architecture in improving educational outcomes. It focuses on challenges raised by the decline in student populations and the closure of schools, alongside the lack of hands-on, constructivist learning methods in the current educational system in Sri Lanka referring to Kandy.

The design thesis focuses on two major interventions:
1) Development of a new school prototype supporting traditional functions and innovative shared facilities for skill-based education and community engagement.
2) Revitalization of underprivileged schools by integrating them into a wider educational network aligned with government initiatives.

Additionally, it proposes an urban master plan of "educational journey" (EDU-TRACK) across Kandy, using the city’s historical and cultural landscape as a dynamic classroom. It proposes specialized educational hubs and centres across the city with two underprivileged schools as the main centres.

The main idea is that architecture serves as a pedagogical tool, shaping environments into engaging learning fields. This approach offers inclusive, immersive, and practical learning opportunities, equipping students for the future while preserving the city’s cultural and historical essence.
