The system house of fabrication, a long promenade, a city green hall serves as a connection hub located in the gap under Woh Chai Hill from East Mong Kok, Sham Shui Po, Tai Hang Tung recreation ground to the hill.

The house functions as a bamboo
factory-based community centre, producing everyday bamboo products and offering bamboo workshops for people, as well as trading opportunities. Bamboo, a highly sustainable natural material, has a unique porous structure for heat dissipation, carbon dioxide absorption, and storage from the atmosphere.

According to the activities surrounding the site area, people are making their own structures for leisure, working and trading. Bamboo is a construction material because it’s easy to work with by hand for collaboration and the cultural representation in Hong Kong.

The translucency bamboo screen house illustrates the nature and the greenery of bamboo leaves in an ocean forest atmosphere by artificial construction inspired by the water medium of the former reservoir on the hill.

The house is a mix of factory and community centre, with the spaces shaped by the contours of the hill. The weaving floors symbolise the water from the former reservoir, weaving the community.
