Located on the outskirts of Iquitos, Peru, the Community Center for Educational Support and Floating Modules on the banks of the Nanay River responds to the need for multifunctional spaces that promote social, cultural, and educational gatherings, inspired by the vernacular architecture of the region: the Maloca. It aims to foster the Kukama Kukamiria culture while addressing issues like seasonal flooding and displacement of indigenous communities due to urbanization.

Spanning 5.7 km, the project connects Santo Tomás de Nanay with nearby rural settlements: Padre Cocha and Manacamiri, through three structures adapted to the region's varied climate and changing river conditions: settled, palafitic, and floating. These forms offer mobility and flexibility of space, resilience, materiality, and climate comfort.

The initiative is expected to generate positive changes in economic development by stimulating local production, promoting tourism, and generating job opportunities. In addition, it aims to reinforce community bonds through the creation of structured public spaces accessible throughout the year and the provision of essential services.

Overall, it proposes a comprehensive solution integrating architecture, culture, and sustainability to empower the Kukama Kukamiria community and safeguard their identity amid increasing urbanization and globalization.
